Countdown to The Creation…

…Introducing our soloists

We are delighted to be joined by three wonderful soloists for our performance of The Creation in April.

Miriam Allan (Soprano)

Since graduating with a first-class Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Newcastle, Australia, followed by a Master of Creative Arts (Music), Miriam Allan has appeared as a soloist with leading orchestras and choirs from all over the world.

In 2003, Miriam Allan was a prize-winner in the Handel Singing Competition for young professional singers organised annually by the London Handel Society. She is a vocal coach at Westminster Under School and Head of Singing at Bloxham School in Oxfordshire.

Nick Madden (Tenor)

The second of our soloists has also travelled from the other side of the globe! Born in New Zealand, Nick moved to England in 2005 to take up a lay clerkship at Ely Cathedral, before moving on to St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, in 2007.

As well as performing in front of the Royal Family at private and state occasions, Nick has toured widely around the world with a variety of eminent chamber choirs and early-music groups. Nick is a founding member of close-harmony group, The Queen’s Six, based in Windsor.

Richard Bannan (Baritone)

Richard Bannan is a lay clerk of St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, musical director of the Petros Singers and head of singing at King’s College School, Wimbledon, on top of his career as a soloist and consort singer.

He began singing at an early age as a chorister at St Paul’s Cathedral, before reading music at Clare College, Cambridge, where he was a Choral Scholar.
